1987 introduced electronic ignition controls, engine management, and electronic throttle body fuel injection.Ī K-Series Fleetside/Wideside with a mere four inch suspension lift can ford 33 inches (838 mm) of water without further modification. It wasn’t until the 1980’s that GM really started introducing on-board electronics for these trucks. These trucks didn’t have a lot of electronics. The truck was retrieved from the pool, dried out, started, and used again in future episodes. Indeed, the last four thumbnails should be placed on the 1982 K-2500 page. The last thumbnail shows the 1982 K-2500. This would explain why they easily come off during the stunts. The tailgates are not permanently attached to the trucks, like the doors or hood they are designed to be removed/or put back by the owner if needed. I don’t think it broke off, but just came off due to the shock. Jettalover wrote I like how the tailgate instantly broke off when the truck landed on it's rear end. Apparently it was more violent than some of the previous jumps. They wrote that the jump truck was ruined after that scène was finished. That must be the jump that finally totaled the truck beyond repair. I like how the tailgate instantly broke off when the truck landed on it's rear end. The 1980 truck is used in other episodes of season 1 in stunt scenes. I guess that was one of the last minute tweeks to the pilot before airing. There was one scene that showed the 1982 GMC truck that they used for the rest of the season. (Note: the undercarriage photos were taken 2 weeks before the conversion/restoration began 3 months ago, this is current condition minus a change in suspension. For the pilot episode (1.01), a 1980 GMC Pickup was used as the main truck. This is a truck Colt Seavers himself would mistake for the ACTUAL Fall Guy truck! The final step was to contact a vinyl company to custom make the Fall Guy logo to apply to the hood! Pictures don't do this thing justice at all.looks amazing and drives like it came off the showroom floor.
A 102" whip antenna on a classic ball mount added as well. Had the winch mount and grille guard custom made to the dimensions from the original trucks, and a brand new Warn VR8000 winch installed, fully functioning.
THE FALL GUY TRUCK CODE
We color matched the side stripe to the Fall Guy truck which is GM paint code WA7739, gold. A new Cobra classic CB was installed and is functional. New window rubber added as well as door seals so they open and close like new.
We added a set of heavy duty Husky mats to protect the clean carpet. The interior was freshened with replacement parts for anything missing/broken but it's mostly original GM quality! Everything works. With the 4. With the 4.10 gears and strong 350 it gets going better than many NEW trucks! 16' Fall Guy replica wheels wrapped in the current version of the Fall Guy Dick Cepek Fun Country tires in 35x12.50 were bolted up and look and drive amazingly well with very little road noise. Also due to the added weight new brakes were done on the truck and it stops very well!ġ6" Fall Guy replica wheels wrapped in the current version of the Fall Guy Dick Cepek Fun Country tires in 35x12.50 were bolted up and look and drive amazingly well with very little road noise. Next a 4" lift was applied which is the same height used on the original show trucks, heavy duty version knowing we were adding some weight to the front later on and needed to clear oversized tires. New ac components and professionally pressure tested and charged with fresh r134aa. New plugs and ALL new fluids, trans, diffs, coolant flush and refill, oil, EVERYTHING.
THE FALL GUY TRUCK FULL
The truck received a full service and compression testing. Original options included AC, AM/FM cassette radio, power windows, power door locks, tilt column, 4.10 gears and turbo 400 automatic transmission. Originally brown and tan two tone in color. One prior owner survivor truck! Garage kept, low miles and ALL stock until the conversion was done.
This beautiful truck started life as a Chevy K2500 camper special. Crowds of people at a car show and thumbs up and horns honking on the highway! Stop at a gas station and gets tons of attention. You cannot drive this truck to a car show or even down the highway without people giving it praise! EVERYONE remembers the Fall Guy. 1986 GMC Sierra restoration and Fall Guy conversion
